BACON AND HIS NOTABLE PHILOSOPHICAL WORKS - PART 1

Bacon has the credit of transplanting the essay into England, but he followed a different line from Montaigne. Apart from being a pioneer in essay writing, he was also a pioneer in Modern Philosophy. Though Francis Bacon belonged to the Anglican faith, his works were far related to Theology. 1.  The Novum Oraganum  - The New Method : This philosophical work was published in 1620. FRANCIS BACON (1561 - 1626)

Sir Francis Bacon was an   Elizabethan essayist, philosopher and statesman.  He is regarded as the father of English Essay. Bacon was the son of Nicholas Bacon who was the lord keeper of the seal for Queen Elizabeth - I . Bacon entered the Trinity College at the age of 12, where he described his tutors as “Men of sharp wits, shut up in their cells of a few authors chiefly Aristotle,their dictator” , this very statement marked the beginning of Bacon’s rejection of Aristotelianism, Scholasticism and the New Renaissance Humanism. He earned his reputation as a debater by entering the British parliament as a member in the house of commons in 1593 . Bacon first published a small volume of essays in 1597 .He has also been called as the creator of Empiricism .
